Multnomah title reaches one million in sales:
I Kissed Dating Goodbye still the benchmark for books on Christian dating
Sisters, Oregon (May, 2005) - Multnomah Publishers announced today the national number one bestseller, I Kissed Dating Goodbye, by Joshua Harris, has exceeded sales of 1 million copies last month. The popular benchmark book for Christian singles first hit the ECPA Bestseller List in 1998 and went on to be the number one bestselling paperback for the year. It was first released eight years ago this month.
Multnomah has since published additional ancillary products including an audio recording, study guide, and video series for I Kissed Dating Goodbye, and launched an updated version of the book in 2003. The book has also been translated into over fifteen languages and been a bestseller in countries like Germany and Korea.
I Kissed Dating Goodbye, with its call for sincere love, real purity, and purposeful singleness, remains the book which all others are compared to on Christian dating and courtship. Christianity Today calls Harris "The Man Who Ignited the Dating Debate." His book sparked a national dialogue with its clear challenge of cultural assumptions about relationships and solid, biblical alternatives.
"The book points out the problems with today's recreational romance," Harris says, "but what I've heard most from readers is that ultimately dating isn't the point--the book is about who God is and what it means to trust him with our love lives. And I think that's what has helped people the most."
"Who would have thought that a twenty-one-year-old kid--sorry, Josh--would write a book that would eventually sell a million copies--and counting? The response to Josh's book reflects the desire of his generation to not be counted among the casualties of the relationally damaged and want nothing to interfere with their relationship to God," says Don Jacobson, Multnomah president and publisher.
Joshua Harris has also authored, Boy Meets Girl, Sex Is Not the Problem (Lust Is), and Stop Dating the Church.
Joshua Harris lives outside Washington, D.C., in Gaithersburg, Maryland, where he is the senior pastor at Covenant Life Church. His greatest passion is preaching the gospel and calling his generation to wholehearted devotion to God. Joshua and his wife Shannon have two children.

Church?
"I am reading Joshua Harris book Stop Dating the Church...love it. He talks about the people who believe they can be Christians and never go to church. I have heard this argument many times. They don't believe you have to fellowship..." (Read full post here.)
Jargon Meets Advice
"Boy Meets Girl: I read part of this back when I bought it 7-ish years ago. If you get past the jargon-y parts it has some solid advice." (Read full post here.)
A Brief Review
"I think this book [Sex is Not the Problem (Lust Is)] would appeal to both teenagers and parents, although I would give the parents the book first to read. This is not explicit in its language but it does tackle the difficult questions." (Read full post here.)
