Any Old School New Attitude Folks Out There?
My old friend Sheena posted a comment. It is a scary thing to have people who knew you in highschool!
Sheena, you asked about Trevor Massely. He was the perfect (imaginary) homeschooler that we wrote about. The hilarious thing is that a lot of people didn't get the joke and thought he was real.
So I'm curious, are there any New Attitude Magazine subscribers out there? A few months ago someone asked me about NA Magazine and so I pulled out all the old back issues and went through them. Wow. Talk about a flood of memories. I wish there were some way to do a big reunion party or something.
Anyway, I'd love to hear from old subscribers.
The picture is of me and Shan in Central Park last month.

Church?
"I am reading Joshua Harris book Stop Dating the Church...love it. He talks about the people who believe they can be Christians and never go to church. I have heard this argument many times. They don't believe you have to fellowship..." (Read full post here.)
Jargon Meets Advice
"Boy Meets Girl: I read part of this back when I bought it 7-ish years ago. If you get past the jargon-y parts it has some solid advice." (Read full post here.)
A Brief Review
"I think this book [Sex is Not the Problem (Lust Is)] would appeal to both teenagers and parents, although I would give the parents the book first to read. This is not explicit in its language but it does tackle the difficult questions." (Read full post here.)

This has.. well.. nothing to do with your post there and I don't know if you'll be able to answer this or not, but here goes:My friend and I run a Christian-based website where we focus on modesty and sexual purity. Our main aspect was our tshirts, which featured images and phrases that pertained to our message. Lately we've been creating a lot of handmade jewelry and accessories, essentially so that we'd be able to raise enough money to get tshirts professionally printed for our site (we'd been using iron-on transfers and a screen printing kit). We'd eventually like to create our own line of modest clothing. Anyways, my question is, if you'd possibly be able to link us on your site or something. We'd love it if you'd check out our site to see our merchandise and also the sections "Our Philosophy" and "FAQ." Let us know what you think! :)www.rockethical.com

Lynsie,I love what you girls are doing! I've always wished there were a company doing cool clothes that are modest. I'd like to see a little more of your stuff and then we'd definitely consider linking to you, okay. Thanks!

Another random comment unrelated to your post... I just have a question: is the "Searching For True Love" video series available in DVD? I'm a youth group leader from Newcastle, Australia and we would like to purchase the set to use in our youth group meetings later this term. We haven't been able to locate the items here. Thanks!

Josh,Of course there are NA Magazine people out here! I have very issue in a box in the top of my closet :-) I started getting the magazine in the 2nd year and then went back and got the old issues. I remember hearing you speak in Orlando and again in Vero Beach back before I could drive, so maybe '95 and '96?Trevor Massely still makes me laugh! I homeschooled K-12 and I have known a few families though the years who were ALMOST like the Massely family.....I never made it to the big NA conferences, but now that you're going to do one again, maybe I'll finally make it.Thanks for all you do!

hi joshua.this is another unrelated post.Just to introduce myself a little, Im Michelle from Malaysia.I finally got my hands on 'I kissed dating goodbye' and now im finished at 4 am.That's how good your book is.Im Christian and at 22 I have not had ANY relationships because all my life God hasn't given me the green light. And ya know, just like Jessica I've begun to sense that pressure of letting go of my principles cos I thought I found someone I really liked and also cos everyone else is pairing up!But the problem is, I don't feel ready cos God hasn't given me His calling.I then got all confused about whether Im weird or taking things too seriously.Your book validated the reasons I held on to singlehood, knowing God has plans He wants to fulfill in me, which being attached would disrupt.Knowing God taught me what He taught you really gave me a huge sense of security. Now I feel I can move head-on when it comes to handling relationships and not give in to the ways of the world.Because a romantic relationship IS serious matter

Oh yes, there's lots of us old NA subscribers out here! I only got the last three issues, but they definitely had a great impact on this homeschooled girl from Oregon. I'm the one who has been working on putting the back issues online over the years, after your office loaned me all the old copies. What fun to see the progression of the magazine. :)Now I'm nearly 22, and finally getting to put all the courtship theories to the test: I'm being courted by a man I've been in love with since I was 13. I'm finding that courtship in real life is so much more than you can read about in a book. I have had to be careful not to "put God in a box" and think He will work the same way in my life as He did in all the other courtship stories I've read. But I'm so thankful for the encouragement I received from your books and others to wait for the man God made for me. A love story written by Him is the most beautiful ever...Thanks for continuing to spread the message of purity.

Josh, My younger bros still read the old NA issues. They enjoy them as much as I did. It's crazy how many memories I have that involve NA. Just the stories of you having to deal the the public/parents are enough to get a good laugh or sigh. Keep up the good work. You're still changing lives. - Michelle
