Play-By-Play of New Attitude

Last night, by the grace of God, Na 2007 launched. I wish all of you who have been here over the years could have been there with us. There was so much enthusiasm and anticipation. During worship, it almost feels like the crowd is attacking the songs, there is so much zeal to lift high the name of Jesus and glory in the gospel.

My friend and fellow-pastor, Eric Simmons, has done such an outstanding job preparing and leading the Na Team. Their creative, prayer-fueled labor is evident everywhere--from the staging, to the "Neighborhood" and its bookstore and art show, to the signs that dot and convention center and direct attendees, to the oh-so-cool t-shirts (by far the best ever).
If you're an old friend of Na or a family member or friend of someone who is here, please, please pray for us. Pray that the Holy Spirit would be at work everywhere throughout the conference. We have quite a day ahead of us--Mark Dever, Al Mohler and CJ Mahaney preach to us. Wow.
The revamped New Attitude Live Blog is up and running. From it you can access our featured live-bloggers--my brothers at The Rebelution, Tim Challies and Boundless.
The Rebelution provides pictures, video and more minute-by-minute style coverage which is a lot of fun. I have the joy of rooming with my little bros. We're having a great time.
Tim Challies provides covers the sessions in the way only he can. I looked his first post on my sermon and a good portion was nearly word for word. Scary! How do you do it, Tim? Are your fingers bleeding? Is your keyboard on fire?
The New Attitude Site is going to do a lot of photos and has some fun features that will start later today.
Hope you can follow-along and be praying for us. And if you've come to New Attitude in the past, please post a comment sharing what year you came and any Na memories you have.

Bad Guy Caught With a Mac: This is a great story. A girl's Apple laptop gets stolen but she uses a remote access program to control it and takes a picture of the thief as the doofus sits in front of the stolen computer. "Smile! You're getting your mug shot taken!" Using the picture, the police nab the bad guy. Moral of the story? Don't mess with a high-tech girl's Mac.
New Word Alive's Top 10: The recent New Word Alive conference showed a video top-ten list of books for students. My book Sex is Not the Problem made the list. It's pretty funny. I just wish mine could have made it in the wok.
Challies on Do Hard Things: Here's a review by Tim Challies of my brothers' new book Do Hard Things.

Church?
"I am reading Joshua Harris book Stop Dating the Church...love it. He talks about the people who believe they can be Christians and never go to church. I have heard this argument many times. They don't believe you have to fellowship..." (Read full post here.)
Jargon Meets Advice
"Boy Meets Girl: I read part of this back when I bought it 7-ish years ago. If you get past the jargon-y parts it has some solid advice." (Read full post here.)
A Brief Review
"I think this book [Sex is Not the Problem (Lust Is)] would appeal to both teenagers and parents, although I would give the parents the book first to read. This is not explicit in its language but it does tackle the difficult questions." (Read full post here.)
