Shopping for Time Review

The GirlTalkers have done it again. Carolyn Mahaney and her three incredible daughters have just released their third book, Shopping for Time: How to Do It All and Not Be Overwhelmed. My wife has been greatly served by the messages and blog posts that this book grew out of, and I'm confident many women will be helped by its content. Here's an excerpt from its review on Discerning Reader:
This book reminded me that God's grace is there for each new day, and God will provide the necessary energy and strength to accomplish what He has called me to accomplish. Also, it reminded me that as a Christian, I have the responsibility to plan the wise use of the time He has given me to use for His glory. Shopping for Time is perfect for any woman, especially those women who want to say goodbye to frustration, misery, and feeling tired all the time. The time management (or life management) principles offered are timeless and Christ-centered. Christian women from about age 17 on up will enjoy reading and benefit from the wisdom presented by the Mahaney women.

Ladies, I'd encourage you to read the entire review as well as an interview with the four ladies about the book. More importantly, I'd encourage you to buy and benefit from the book yourself!

Church?
"I am reading Joshua Harris book Stop Dating the Church...love it. He talks about the people who believe they can be Christians and never go to church. I have heard this argument many times. They don't believe you have to fellowship..." (Read full post here.)

A Brief Review
"I think this book [Sex is Not the Problem (Lust Is)] would appeal to both teenagers and parents, although I would give the parents the book first to read. This is not explicit in its language but it does tackle the difficult questions." (Read full post here.)

Anonymous,
I'm curious to hear what your perception is of the book. Based on your sadness, I wonder if you misunderstand the its content. Shopping for Time is really a response to God's command to "mak[e] the best use of the time because the days are evil" (Eph. 15:15-17). The book is gospel centered--not merely about time management, but seeing God glorified with our lives as we faithfully steward our time.
I'd encourage anyone to give this book a chance before dismissing it--I believe many will find it very helpful.
Thanks,
Joshua
