Brian on The Clash:

I went to the Clash weary in my faith and in my walk with God, and concerned that I would not get much out of the conference. I thought it would focus on my intellect but not my spiritual well-being, and that attendees were supposed to have the basics of the Christian life down so that they can focus on the more important stuff.

How wrong I was. As I sat through the first few lectures, my heart began to burn for more. My despair and unworthiness vanished as I became captured by the desire to know my God in a way I have never known Him before. This passion only grew in me as the week continued, and as I heard Nathan Sasser teach on why a presupposition of God is necessary if we are going to know anything about ourselves and the world. He then taught how to build that worldview into every aspect of life.

That week, God spoke to me both inside and outside of the lecture hall. The Spirit's presence was evident and working throughout the entire conference, bringing conviction through the Word, and encouragement through worship, prayer, and constant biblical fellowship. I returned home not only strengthened in my desire to pursue truth for His glory, but with my soul refreshed.

Classes resumed yesterday, and I find that even as I sit and listen to my professor talk about accounting, my mind is seeking to make the connection between the lecture and God's Word. My classroom full of strangers excites me with prospect of developing new friendships and engaging in conversations. Looking around, I think to myself, "Each person in here has a worldview, whether they know it or not." The Clash was not just a great conference I attended last week. The clash is right now in this classroom, this campus, and this city.

We want your story. If you attended The Clash, please send us your story about what you learned, how truth changed you and how it's making a difference in the way you're engaging the world. Send an email to contact@joshharris.com and be sure to include a picture and a short bio.
