Clash Story: Courtney Minard

Courtney Minard, 18, grew up in Covenant Life Church, was home schooled her entire life, and graduated from the Covenant Life Family Schools Program. (She learned about The Clash through Nathan Sasser's Apologetics class at Covenant Life School, where she took some classes.) This fall, Courtney plans to attend Montgomery College with the purpose of becoming a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant. She loves playing sports, watching science fiction, and laughing and fellowshipping with her family and friends.
Courtney on The Clash:
The Lord specifically blessed me after Nathan's lecture on the doctrine of God's revelation of himself to mankind. I realized that I wanted to somehow have the ability to know and get to God on a foundation of myself or really anything other than God. The Lord graciously exposed my sinful, corrupt heart unwilling to submit to God's ways, and at the same time revealed how amazing His love and mercy is to me despite my sin!
I believe the greatest blessing of The Clash was getting to know other Christians guys and girls from all across the country who are passionate about the Gospel and in love with the Savior. Throughout the week, the truth in Ephesians 2 really spoke to me.
"So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself, being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit ."I saw this verse actively displayed at The Clash. I was affected that God is at work, not just at my church, but in so many other local churches. I was filled with so much hope for our generation! I am specifically so grateful for every person in my discussion group. We really grew close together as we dwelt on the truths of Scripture and cared for and laughed with one another! We all were so different, but our diversity further reflected the glorious fact that the Gospel is for all people!
We want your story. If you attended The Clash, please send us your story about what you learned, how truth changed you and how it's making a difference in the way you're engaging the world. We're looking for specific truths from lectures, quotations and ideas that affected you. Send an email to contact@joshharris.com and be sure to include a picture and a short bio.

Pilgrim's Progress Musical: Pilgrim is a modern musical adaptation of John Bunyan's classic work, Pilgrim's Progress. It was performed in spring 2009 by the high school students at my church. They did a great job. The script is by theatre professionals (and members of our church) Janice Mays and Cathy Mays. The music is by various artists, including Bob Kauflin, Zach Jones and Mark Altrogge. You can order a DVD of the production here.
Give Me An Answer Highschool Conference: I'm looking forward to joining Al Mohler, Russell Moore, Shane & Shane and hip-hop artist Flame at the SBTS conference for highschool students next spring. Details.
Stephen Altrogge Reviews Dug Down Deep: Over at the Blazing Center blog they've posted a very generous review of the book. Read it.

Do you know if the MP3s from the Clash will be available online?
...Man, I would have loved to have been with you guys for this conference, but by then my conference-attending fund for 2007 had already run dry. :-)
