Clash Story: Nate Bauers

Nate Bauers hails from Woodstock, Georgia, which is North West of Atlanta. He's a junior at Kennesaw State Univerisity studying Business Management. Nate loves spending time with my family and church friends, reading books, and sometimes playing tennis. His church is Sovereign Grace Church in Woodstock, GA. For the 11 years before that, he attended Sovereign Grace Church in Chesapeake, VA. Nate loves serving in his care group, and as a helper in the the 8 and 9 years old class at his church.
Nate on The Clash:
I would just like to thank Jeff Purswell and Nathan Sasser for The Clash. God has already begun to use it to strengthen my faith and has helped me begin to learn how God is at work in all aspects of my life.
In my college experience, I have had several classes that have in many ways made me doubt my faith and its truthfulness. Since then, there has been much doubt and skepticism in my heart, in which it seemed a daily task to have to convince myself of my faith's validity whenever I went to church, or sat down to read my Bible. As a result, I've been very fearful of speaking up in classes, or of sharing the gospel with unbelieving classmates.
But my prayer in coming to The Clash was that through learning how to engage culture, instead of running from it, I would be equipped to return to my campus next week confident that God would glorify Himself through me.
This prayer has been answered. Through every teaching here, I have been deeply strengthened in my faith, and have seen the supremacy of Christ portrayed in all aspects of culture.
Jeff and Nathan, thank you for the numerous hours you have invested into planning this conference. Thank you both for your humility, and deep convictions with which you have spoken to us. I can already see the effects of your labors working in my life, and my soul is strengthened, knowing that the gospel of Christ is at work in every area of the world and culture.
We want your story. If you attended The Clash, please send us your story about what you learned, how truth changed you and how it's making a difference in the way you're engaging the world. Send an email to contact@joshharris.com and be sure to include a picture and a short bio.

Bad Guy Caught With a Mac: This is a great story. A girl's Apple laptop gets stolen but she uses a remote access program to control it and takes a picture of the thief as the doofus sits in front of the stolen computer. "Smile! You're getting your mug shot taken!" Using the picture, the police nab the bad guy. Moral of the story? Don't mess with a high-tech girl's Mac.
New Word Alive's Top 10: The recent New Word Alive conference showed a video top-ten list of books for students. My book Sex is Not the Problem made the list. It's pretty funny. I just wish mine could have made it in the wok.

Church?
"I am reading Joshua Harris book Stop Dating the Church...love it. He talks about the people who believe they can be Christians and never go to church. I have heard this argument many times. They don't believe you have to fellowship..." (Read full post here.)
Jargon Meets Advice
"Boy Meets Girl: I read part of this back when I bought it 7-ish years ago. If you get past the jargon-y parts it has some solid advice." (Read full post here.)
A Brief Review
"I think this book [Sex is Not the Problem (Lust Is)] would appeal to both teenagers and parents, although I would give the parents the book first to read. This is not explicit in its language but it does tackle the difficult questions." (Read full post here.)

And believe it or not, today is also Nate's birthday. Happy birthday Nate -- you've been featured on Josh Harris's blog, haha.
Love the idea of posting the testimonies; I can't wait to hear more, and will definitely send my own in tomorrow!
