Darth Federer: On Sunday afternoon the whole Harris family watched Roger Federer win his 12th Grand Slam at the U.S. Open. Unbelievable. My son is such a big Fed fan that he broke into tears when I told him before the match that Novac Djokovic might be victorious. Silly me. Roger won in straight sets. But we all decided we liked Djokovic and look forward to seeing him play again. His personality and charisma will be very good for tennis.

Pilgrim's Progress Musical: Pilgrim is a modern musical adaptation of John Bunyan's classic work, Pilgrim's Progress. It was performed in spring 2009 by the high school students at my church. They did a great job. The script is by theatre professionals (and members of our church) Janice Mays and Cathy Mays. The music is by various artists, including Bob Kauflin, Zach Jones and Mark Altrogge. You can order a DVD of the production here.
