Labor Day Nature Walk

Hope you're having a great day with family and friends. Here are some pictures from a little walk I took with Emma and Joshua Quinn today.

We went to Seneca Creek. The trail winds through the woods.

This is a weird berry we saw growing along the path.

The path takes you to an open, grassy area that we pretended was the African plain.

A sweet moment of brother-sister affection.

We took a side trail so we could visit the creek.

Joshua Quinn tromping through the creek.

We're a Croc family. Regardless of your opinion of these shoes, no one can deny that they're perfect for exploring a creek!

We have them in Scotland too...crocs I mean...my Mum couldn't believe how expensive they were!!

I love them crocs too. However, be very careful wearing them on escalators! For some reason escalators like to pull them in eat little toes. I think it's because they are so soft they easily get caught in them. But I love mine too!

I wear my crocs so much I cannot even feel comfortable in my other kinds of shoes. When they start going out of style I plan on buying a dozen pairs of the dark brown ones so I will have enough till they come back in style.

Hey Josh-
I became curious as to what berry that could possibly be. Really great pictures by the way! Your kids are growing up so fast, don't they all? :)

I wad doing some research on red wildberries in that area and came up with two possibilities:
Wintergreen
Teaberry

Both have very simular leaves as what is shown aboe in your pic. The Wintergreen is especially known to grown along the ground. I didn't have time to read up on how teaberry grows. Anyway, just thought I'd share what I found.

Take care.
