I Need to Learn How to Do This
This is a clip from the French version of American Idol (HT: Steve McCoy). If I could learn how to do this and then incorporate beatboxing into my sermons at key moments when the attention-level of the congregation seems to be dipping I think it might make me much more effective.

What I'm Listening To: I just bought The Weepies new album Hideaway
. Shannon and I are in my office. She's reading and I'm filing and paying bills. I like this album. Great melodies. Good working, studying, chillin' out music.
Bad Guy Caught With a Mac: This is a great story. A girl's Apple laptop gets stolen but she uses a remote access program to control it and takes a picture of the thief as the doofus sits in front of the stolen computer. "Smile! You're getting your mug shot taken!" Using the picture, the police nab the bad guy. Moral of the story? Don't mess with a high-tech girl's Mac.
New Word Alive's Top 10: The recent New Word Alive conference showed a video top-ten list of books for students. My book Sex is Not the Problem made the list. It's pretty funny. I just wish mine could have made it in the wok.

Church?
"I am reading Joshua Harris book Stop Dating the Church...love it. He talks about the people who believe they can be Christians and never go to church. I have heard this argument many times. They don't believe you have to fellowship..." (Read full post here.)
Jargon Meets Advice
"Boy Meets Girl: I read part of this back when I bought it 7-ish years ago. If you get past the jargon-y parts it has some solid advice." (Read full post here.)
A Brief Review
"I think this book [Sex is Not the Problem (Lust Is)] would appeal to both teenagers and parents, although I would give the parents the book first to read. This is not explicit in its language but it does tackle the difficult questions." (Read full post here.)

Josh and Shannon,
I had a question to ask you. I am having a little issue with some thoughts and wished that you would or some one from your staff would pray for me. Also, I had another question about the friendship plan to find the right person to get married to. I am going to have frineds which I do, but I wanted to know what you thought about being interested in someone, but keep saying your friends until you get to know that person. I just don't want to be called a couple if it doesn't work out and then end it, but still be friends just have that remembrance of peopl;e saying that. And then maybe if we fall in love then a ring and marriage. What do you think about that.

Mary,
We will definitely pray for you. I also hope you're part of a local church in your area. There's no replacement for involvement in a church where you can receive care and support.
In regard to your question, please email your address to my assistant Katherine. Her email address is in the "contact" section of the site. We'd be happy to send you a copy of Boy Meets Girl. All the counsel I can pass on about friendship is in there. God bless you.

Josh, awesome! I love my church but I'd find a new job move and join CLC for the beat-boxing pastor. DA

I understand it frustrates you at times when, the congregation's attention kind of wanders away. I'm a college instructor and I feel that way many times. The strength of the Lord is made perfect in your weakness.

Manet,
I was just kidding. The truth is that my church is very attentive. And they wouldn't be impressed by beatboxing!
