My Brothers Are Famous
The Washington Post has a story today about the role of home-schoolers in boosting the campaign of Mike Huckabee and it specifically mentions my brothers and the role they played in getting Chuck Norris involved:
For Norris's boost, Huckabee can thank Brett and Alex Harris, 19-year-old twins and sons of an Oregon home-school activist named Gregg Harris. They started blogs to promote Huckabee and had the idea of sending e-mails to prominent conservatives, urging them to get behind the former Arkansas governor.Regardless of your political leaning, I think it's pretty cool that two teenagers with a blog can play a part in the election process. Okay, I'm just a proud older brother! One of the e-mails from the Portland pair was read to Norris, who climbed aboard, filming an ad that emphasized Huckabee's self-deprecating wit and his credentials as a social conservative and gun advocate.

Pilgrim's Progress Musical: Pilgrim is a modern musical adaptation of John Bunyan's classic work, Pilgrim's Progress. It was performed in spring 2009 by the high school students at my church. They did a great job. The script is by theatre professionals (and members of our church) Janice Mays and Cathy Mays. The music is by various artists, including Bob Kauflin, Zach Jones and Mark Altrogge. You can order a DVD of the production here.
Give Me An Answer Highschool Conference: I'm looking forward to joining Al Mohler, Russell Moore, Shane & Shane and hip-hop artist Flame at the SBTS conference for highschool students next spring. Details.
Stephen Altrogge Reviews Dug Down Deep: Over at the Blazing Center blog they've posted a very generous review of the book. Read it.

That's pretty exciting! I didn't realize the connection between til I read all this on your site.
Just thought I'd mention - when our oldest daughter (now nearly 22 and married) was little, we did the '21 rules of this house.' One day she recited one of them and asked where it was in the Bible. When we told her it wasn't a Bible verse, she said, horrified, "Well - it SHOULD be!!"
Merry Christmas!
