CJ Blogs

Glory Hallelujah! CJ has entered the blogosphere with his new blog on the Sovereign Grace site entitled " Sovereign Grace Blog: C.J. Mahaney's view from the cheap seats
& other stuff." Check it out.
Be part of history and read his first post, in which he writes,
It has taken a very long time (we're talking years) and a growing chorus of demanding friends in order to convince me (aren't there enough blogs already?) that doing this would in some way serve you. In fact, it was that possibility, that I could somehow serve pastors, members of Sovereign Grace churches and anyone who wanted to listen in, that eventually persuaded me to begin this blog. So, I hope in some small way this does serve you and if not then we will simply close it down and I will hold my well-meaning friends responsible.

What I'm Listening To: I just bought The Weepies new album Hideaway
. Shannon and I are in my office. She's reading and I'm filing and paying bills. I like this album. Great melodies. Good working, studying, chillin' out music.
Bad Guy Caught With a Mac: This is a great story. A girl's Apple laptop gets stolen but she uses a remote access program to control it and takes a picture of the thief as the doofus sits in front of the stolen computer. "Smile! You're getting your mug shot taken!" Using the picture, the police nab the bad guy. Moral of the story? Don't mess with a high-tech girl's Mac.
New Word Alive's Top 10: The recent New Word Alive conference showed a video top-ten list of books for students. My book Sex is Not the Problem made the list. It's pretty funny. I just wish mine could have made it in the wok.

Church?
"I am reading Joshua Harris book Stop Dating the Church...love it. He talks about the people who believe they can be Christians and never go to church. I have heard this argument many times. They don't believe you have to fellowship..." (Read full post here.)
Jargon Meets Advice
"Boy Meets Girl: I read part of this back when I bought it 7-ish years ago. If you get past the jargon-y parts it has some solid advice." (Read full post here.)
A Brief Review
"I think this book [Sex is Not the Problem (Lust Is)] would appeal to both teenagers and parents, although I would give the parents the book first to read. This is not explicit in its language but it does tackle the difficult questions." (Read full post here.)

This is sweet news indeed! I have been looking forward to this for so long. Thank you C.J., and thanks to whoever persuaded C.J. to make the jump into the blog world.

Hi Josh,
I know this is kinda off topic, but I've been trying to find a way I can E-mail CJ to tell him that I recently read his book "Humility: True greatness". I wanted to join him in thanking God for the amazing grace he's poured out on us all through the book, and tell him what am impact it's had on me, and that I'm sure that if I live much longer, I'll reread and reread it again. It was honestly probably the most helpful short book I've read since "Don't waste your life". If I'd e-mailed him myself, I'd have directed him to the review I put up at www.revddrwho.blogspot.com
This may be a little cheeky, but if you remember, could you do me the honour of relaying my thanks and encouragement to CJ for me.
Thanks for your work as well, you shaped the way I looked at dating, and IKDG was actually the first Christian book I read after my conversion.
