The Rebelution Conference
I am way too tired to write much about the Rebelution Conference that our church hosted today. Suffice it to say that I thought my brother Joel did a great job leading worship, Alex and Brett were fantastic and my dad's message was one of the most effective evangelistic messages I've ever heard. I sat in the front row praising God for his grace on our family. And I was just so honored to get to see God touching so many lives through the conference. Here are some pics from the day (thanks to Cait for taking them and sharing them with us). We'll post more on the church blog in the coming week.
Alex and Brett welcome people to the conference and share their story.
Approximately 3,200 people were in attendance. I've never seen the building so packed.
Three young "rebelutionaries": my daughter Emma, my brother James and my son Josh
If you were at the conference, please leave a comment and tell me what you thought. Thanks for coming!

Pilgrim's Progress Musical: Pilgrim is a modern musical adaptation of John Bunyan's classic work, Pilgrim's Progress. It was performed in spring 2009 by the high school students at my church. They did a great job. The script is by theatre professionals (and members of our church) Janice Mays and Cathy Mays. The music is by various artists, including Bob Kauflin, Zach Jones and Mark Altrogge. You can order a DVD of the production here.
Give Me An Answer Highschool Conference: I'm looking forward to joining Al Mohler, Russell Moore, Shane & Shane and hip-hop artist Flame at the SBTS conference for highschool students next spring. Details.
Stephen Altrogge Reviews Dug Down Deep: Over at the Blazing Center blog they've posted a very generous review of the book. Read it.

How can we get the message Gregg Harris preached today on Evangelism? Thanks.

How great to see pictures! May many lives be radically altered after the conference! May the fruit be long lasting.
Our Sr. High camp starts today and a man at our church donated a copy of "Do Hard Things" for each student attending! Actually he's been handing out copies left and right (oh and he's in his 80's!)
God bless!

Wow! Where do I start?! I was aniticipating this conference for many months after I tore through the book and it most deffinetely exceeded even my best expectations! Brett and Alex were awesome but I was especially captivated and blessed by your father's message. I am so thrilled to have had the opportunity to go. I did'nt want it to end! It is so amazing and inspiring to see God's work in your family, the Harris family is a force to be reckoned with!!!

Our youth group had a great time at the conference. 1 Timothy 4:12 was my youth group verse when I was a student. We repeated it before we left youth group every week. The message speaks today because it is Scriptural and counter cultural.
One of our students were welcomed into the Kingdom of God yesterday. It was a great blessing to the group and for the family.
We shared some testimonies in church today and the church was blessed by it. Thank you to the Harris family for your faithfulness and Covenant Life church for the hospitality.
To God be the glory.

The conference was absolutely amazing! I'm so glad I got to attend. One thing I really liked was how they talked about some of the same things that were in the book, but because they were speaking rather than writing, it seemed like they were able to expound on it and add more to it than before! They also continually reminded us to depend on God's grace rather than our own strength, which was really helpful. Another thing that really stood out to me was when Brett was listing ways to stay strong / persevere in doing hard things, and he talked about "re-arranging the furniture in your life"...God really convicted me through that! I also learned that doing hard things is a way to be reminded of the Gospel. When I'm doing that, I can remember that I'm not just doing hard things for the sake of doing hard things, but that I'm doing it for the Gospel and for the glory of God. God showed me that I can be constantly reminded of the Gospel throughout every day by doing even small hard things, and not just save it for a dramatic, once-a-week moment. And also, at the end of the conference, I had been in line to meet Alex and Brett, and was disappointed when the line was hardly even moving. So, I gave up on that, but God very kindly proved an opportunity for me to meet you, Josh, and tell you how He's used your teaching to help me in my life, which is something I'm incredibly thankful for! So, thank you for taking the time to talk to me and the rest of the people there :-)
The Rebelution was amazing!

My husband and I took our two "teens" to the event. It was the most amazing thing we have ever seen. We were all truly challenged. It may have been for teens, but I was challenged as well!

Wow I was there yesterday and I agree, it was amazing. I agree with Chalice, I did not want it to end!! I am so thankful my sister and I got to go. I have been anticipating attending a conference ever since I first heard of the Rebelution. I was just blown away by the messages. Not only the talent and example of these men of God but of the truths that they proclaimed and the manner in which they did it, which was to give all the glory to the Savior! It was so refreshing to be amongst so many like-minded individuals! I was also thankful to have been at the service this morning and hear your father speak again. My prayers are with all those who attended. May we all be faithful in our calling to Do Hard Things for the glory of God!!

Hey, amazing conference! I had a blast and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a really powerful experience, and God really did amazing things yesterday...
Oh, I bumped into your kids, Josh, at the end of the conference when I went to get my copy of the book signed. Sorry about that. Lovely kids though. Hmm, James must not be much older than Emma? Is it weird for her to call him her uncle?
Overall, it was great. Thanks for everything!

I was at the conference yesterday and thought it was so amazing. I was motivated, encouraged and inspired to change and Do Hard Things for the glory of God. Your brothers and father did an excellence job of communicating the truth and I could tell they are so passionate about what they preach.

I wasn't able to go to the Rebelution Conference this year but I'm always so excited to hear people talking about it! I was able to go last year to Indianapolis and I'm hoping to go again next year if the locations are close enough and if they keep it up. I'm so glad everything went well!

Hey Josh!
It was great to meet you the other day!
The conference was so amazing. I couldn't believe how many people were there. The messages were so inspiring, even hearing them for the second time. I have new motivation for my life. :)

Hey Josh -
This is Hannah Lefchik...I met you right before the last session. (If you need a face refresher I have some photos posted on my blog.) Thank you for being so kind - it was wonderful to meet you!!
The conference was such a blessing! Hearing Alex & Brett share the messages from their hearts was a fresh challenge and inspiration that I seriously needed. (And from your dad, also.) I truly appreciate them and how God is using them to touch the lives of so many people. Thank you again for hosting the conference and being such a support for Alex & Brett...I'm sure they couldn't do it without you. Family is the BEST. :)
God bless you! Hope to see you again in the future!

hey josh!
i really loved your book 'boy meets girl'..
i've learned a lot of things from it..
it's not all about courtship and so on, but it's all about the relationship with God in the center of it.
Godbless and more power!
