Praying for Texas and Hurricane Ike

hurricane_ike.jpg

We received the following comment from a girl named Rachel from Texas:

I'm a reader of this blog down here in the Lone Star State and as it is you may have heard of Hurricane Ike. For us down here it is a little unsettling for lack of better terms and if anyone who reads this would take the time to say a prayer for us I'd be grateful (not to mention many others). Everything is really in disaray for some people and so please keep us and the rest of the states along the coast in your prayers. --Rachel
We will be praying for you, Rachel. Thanks for your note.

Let's remember that we pray to the one whom "even the winds and water obey" (Luke 8:25). Let's ask our Lord to still this storm and protect the people living on the Gulf Coast states.

Amen! Thanks for putting that request out there! May we all continue to pray for those who live on the Gulf coast of Texas.

I am praying.
I minister is deep south Tx. all what we are expected is to get some heavy rain and floodin. I am praying and praying for those in Houston. God have mercy on them!

Hey Josh!
Sorry to enter into this conversation late, but I actually thought that I could let it pass. I read Nicole's entry yesterday before you removed it and I stand with her. Where are the men? These days, in the local church, men are taught to be meek - to be "nice." They truly believe that Christianity is represented as such. But, our Savior was more. And Christian men are suppose to be warriors, tearing down and destroying strongholds of evil. Men won't stand for life, except for a very few. They stand behind the women and they are simply "nice." Or they have an avenue, a podium to speak from to the masses and they write about animals. (By the way, when you take this letter off, you can replace it with a story about the new elephant born at the Portland Zoo. They call him, "Sam.") Don't you realize, yet that you are fully accountable for all that you read - all that is presented to you and God will firmly and completely call you to account for your apathy and strict departure from the Truth? These are the days of being tested by God and I am afraid that most out there are failing. Another Hurricane strikes and the people pray to God, as if, they have no idea that God is allowing these disasters to get us to humble ourselves and pray and repent of not caring --- repent of taking off crucial Truth from blogs and not laying our lives down as Christians to save the innocent. May we not find a safe place - a safe harbor - peace of any kind until we lay our lives down to be true Christians. You can take this letter off, but you will have its contents seared on your heart forever, Josh. Your test is today. Donald Miller already failed his:
www.resurrectionpower.com/page373.htm. God led me to I Chronicles 15 this morning when He told me that I had to write to you. Please read it carefully and know that all are judged as His Ark passes; His Presence through His words. Some of us rejoice greatly with God's Words to us and we do not hesitate to "display" His Truth, but there are many out there who despise His Truth and try to remove it from their accountability. Can't be done. You can remove the words, but the Anointing remains and your response is known by God. www.cryjusticecryfreedomcryaction.blogspot.com ("Look we didn't know")
Well.... you know now, pilgrim!
Terah

PS - What will God do with the men? He spoke this to me a couple days ago:
www.resurrectionpower.com/page382.htm What kind of man do you want to be?

Hi, Terah.

I'm a little taken aback by your note. Just so you know the only reason I removed the comments was because I'd already gotten Nicole's note via email and she another commenter were starting to go back and forth in a negative way and I try to avoid fights here on the blog.

Just so you and Nicole know, I appreciate your encouragement to address the issue of abortion. I have done that on this blog. And separate from any email or comment I'd been working on something in that vein that I plan to post next week. I hadn't gotten a chance to post this yet or respond to the email because I have other responsibilities.

Regardless of what you think of me as a man or my blog, I hope you'll try to be respectful in what you post here and ask that you be charitable in your judgments.

Thanks and God bless,

Joshua

Hi Josh,

I don't currently have time to read through everything my mom wrote you (and respond), but I just read your comment quickly and I'm guessing I probably should have added a disclaimer: WARNING: Delete my messages and my mom will be posting shortly. =)

All kidding aside, I only posted the email I sent you on here because I was assuming that you did not receive it since it had been about 12 days. I was pretty much assuming you'd take it off, actually. When the other commenter wrote (Joe) I was quite angry, to be honest, that someone could respond with that heart to the issue of children being murdered in our country. If the same number of children had died in a terrorist attack on a school, would he have responded the same? Wouldn't other commenters have been angry? You see, sometimes I think that people simply don't understand the gravity of what is happening and how much it grieves our Father that one in three (or more) of His precious children whom He has uniquely created and watched grow and has caressed in their mother's womb are killed. It's unimaginable, but sometimes I get angry when I don't feel that we are even trying to relate. On thinking back on what I said to Joe, though, and reading your response, I probably shouldn't have grouped you in with him when responding to his comment -- I'm sorry for that, Josh.

To close, I'm glad to hear that you've been planning something and look forward to seeing what it will be -- although I'm not sure anything could be as powerful as what you posted a while back, "Tears for Obama." I have to say that your son really influenced my heart on the matter as I realized that I did not have God's Heart about what was happening to nearly the measure that he did. I am eternally grateful that you shared his heart with your readers when you did.

I'm not sure if my mom will respond or not to what you wrote. Either way, thank you for your response to her message. We'll try to consider you more charitably -- but it's a process. =)

In Christ,

Nicole

P.S. Thanks Mom!

Guess what, Josh and fellow Josh Harris blog readers? There's a fire at The Rebelution:
Check it out here.

I can't really take credit for it (as I posted, then left the matter in God's Hands, thinking it was over). But God is really working in people's hearts -- if even only a few.

Exhortations and discussions may be turning into arguements, and many people don't like arguements (especially those from churches), but if we stop the arguements and agree to either agree or disagree without banding together and really starting something that's never been done before, really getting something done, then we'll be just like all the generations before and abortion will never end.

Join me, fellow patriots, will you? We can change the world. We can spend our lives for others as Jesus spent His for us.

Put conviction to action. Being pro-life isn't just not killing -- it's saving lives, stopping deaths. It's just like how being a Christian isn't just "not sinning" -- it's loving God by obeying His Commands, loving our fellow men, laying our lives down on the altar, living as one Saved by Grace and transformed by the Power of the Resurrection.

Josh Harris---
You know not the charges against you from the Heavens, but it will truly be more than you can bear. Thus, you will eventually repent, but know tonight, your life is no longer your own. You have chosen the "dark side" and the remainder of your life will prove these words . May God have mercy on your children, for they are innocent. Know Justice - it comes, because this is the only way you will gain grace. I cannot tell you the details, for I cannot bear to write them. But remember, all that God allows is for the purpose of redeeming you from your choices.

Charged with Ezekiel 2- 3,
Terah

PS- I noticed that you removed the comments against pastor Driscoll and are not allowing any Truth to be offered to your readers. It is, after all, your blog. But, Josh, you are no longer your own and God will do whatever it takes to redeem you so that you will one day esteem Truth and choose to only write and speak from God's Heart and no longer side with those who are an abhorrence to God. Simple Truth, but it will take you a lifetime to absorb. I will be praying for your children and that you would learn your lesson quickly, but thoroughly and no longer taint the readers. Psalm 101.

Thank you so much for praying for us. God really had his hand of protection on us. Other than our neighboring community of Galveston, we went fairly unharmed. Our God is an awesome and compassionate God.
