Ten Years of Grace
I'm in Florida with Shannon celebrating our tenth anniversary, so blogging will be light for a while.

Nanoblog
Going Crazy Over Lincoln: On vacation I read Team of Rivals and Manhunt. Next in line are two by Ronald C. White, Jr.: A. Lincoln and Lincoln's Greatest Speech. I just wrote James L. Swanson an email that probably made me sound like a crazed groupie. I think I need professional help. I want to go visit Edwin Stanton's grave in Georgetown. Anybody wanna come?
Homeschooling Grows: I saw this article in USA Today the other day at the grocery store. It's fascinating to see how the homeschool movement is evolving. Read it.
New Facebook Page: This sounds really cheesy, but we just launched a "fan page" over on Facebook. So here's the deal: I've almost reached the limit of friends I'm allowed to have so we started it as a way to have more friends. So just ignore the whole "fan" thing and feel free to join. I'll be posting more there about the new book and conference stuff. I just loaded some of my favorite pictures from NEXT 2009. Visit page.

I am a bit stunned right now. I have always highly respected and promoted SG ministries. I have loved what seemed to be a group of believers who uphold the highest of standards and reverence for our holy God. Then I see Mark Driscoll being promoted by one of it's leaders. I see John Piper promoting him. Again, I am stunned. I am so wondering how one could promote a man who speaks of our Lord and His word with such crass, and irrevent words. How that can be justified and endorsed, I cannot fathom. I have to say that I have lost some respect for SG ministries and am so disapointed. I am afraid that I will not be able to completely endorse or trust now.
God Bless you...you have such a voice in the church as a whole. How powerful it would be if you were able to challenge brother Driscoll towards glorifying God with His words...how much better He'd be for it.
I will pray for you both.

Happy 10th Anniversary, Josh and Shannon! I am so happy for you both, and rejoice in God's blessings in the commitment that you both hold in great solemness. May God bless the next 50 years of marriage! Or as many as He so chooses...60,etc. :)
With love,

Congratulations Josh and Shannon! Josh, may you continue to love Shannon as our Savior loves the church. Shannon, may you respect and submit to Josh as the church obeys Jesus. May the Lord grant you more grace as you grow in manhood and womanhood, and may you be more godly in your role as parents and as models to the members of the church!
Enjoy your vacation!

Congratulations! My wife and I just celebrated our ninth. Thank the Lord for Martin Luther opening up God's gracious gift of marriage to us pastors! May God's grace be continually at work in your marriage, family, and ministry. I appreciate your ministry.

Josh and Shannon,
The years do fly by, don't they? I pray your time together would be a time of renewal, rest, and reflection upon God's eternal goodness.

Happy Anniversary guys! I can't believe it was 10 years ago that Gina and I traveled to MD for the wedding - it just goes by too fast.
And out of the marriage came 3 of the cutest kids ever. What a beautiful family you've become!
Hope the trip was wonderful and that you fell in love with each other all over again!
