A Few Useful Websites
Some websites that I am looovving. (Three o's and two v's means serious love.) You probably know all about them and have used them for years. I don't claim to be cutting edge...
Pandora. Is this the coolest thing ever? Create your own "radio" station around a favorite song or artist without annoying commercials. I have it on my iPhone, too. I created a station for Fernando Ortega and play it during my devotions. A great way to either save money not buying new music or a way to spend money buying the new music you discover. So what useful sites have you been using lately? Let me know.Mint. This is a free finance-tracking service that automatically pulls info from your bank and shows all your account balances in nicely ordered categories. It can do the same for credit cards, loans, you name it. It's a simple way to track spending. Also available on iPhone.
Google. Really good search engine. You type in a word and "boom!" you get all this information. Keep an eye on this company I think it has a future. (Okay, I'm kidding about this one.)

Remember The Milk (google it) is a task manager that is also available on iPhone. You can create as many lists as you want, add due dates, tags, create smart lists and share them with other users.

www.noisetrade.com
Fair trade music. Great music and all you have to do is tell 5 other people about the CD or pay what you want to download it. Mint is great too. My wife and I started using it last month and it's great.

what i love most about pandora is that when you get bored with a station, you can add "variety" by adding additional artists. its a great feature! (i'm somewhat of a pandora addict myself... i listen to it just about every day at work and have probably 40 stations!) :)

Google Reader. That's where I read your blog, and about 20 others!
Pandora is great, as has been mentioned.
And I use Delicious for bookmarking, and have found that useful as I switch browsers and computers.

Pandora is pretty neat, but unfortunately inaccessible to Canadian people.
"We are deeply, deeply sorry to say that due to licensing constraints, we can no longer allow access to Pandora for listeners located outside of the U.S. We will continue to work diligently to realize the vision of a truly global Pandora, but for the time being we are required to restrict its use. We are very sad to have to do this, but there is no other alternative."
Fortunately, www.last.fm is a similar service. You do need to download player software, but it gives a similar sort of radio and music discovery experience.

I agree - last.fm is a cracker - we use it to play music before & after church. Check out communicatejesus.com too - it's a website to explore how technology and the Internet can be used for ministry.

its amazing, and lovable. Plus did you know that if you type 2+2 in google, it says... 4? :) or sqrt2 then it gives the answer?
Deviant art, for great art and everything you could possibly imagine.

I have been trying and trying to get Mint.com working for me and can't. It always times out before it can log into my account. Ghetto.

I was recently introduced to Mint and I have to say I'm loving it! It makes you so aware of your spending...which, I guess, can be a good or bad thing. :)
Check out Google Reader...it's like having your personal newspaper come to your front door...er, inbox.
God Bless!

Hulu.com is a pretty neat (and legal) site for watching video clips/shows from TV and movies.
And wow, thanks for sharing about Pandora - I started using it last night and am enjoying it!

I use Google Reader and the RSS feeds in Bible Gateway's Reading Plans to help me keep on track with my plan.

I like Slacker.com over pandora, but each to their own.

Crazy! My husband just put me onto mint.com last week, I think. He loves using the latest online options and I'm still stuck in the paper world. I want to move on, I really do, but I'm stuck. So, when he suggested mint.com I looked at it and swiftly moved to other more paper-ish things.
The above should tell you that I don't have any useful websites to share. Other than hotmail.com. I like email. But somehow I don't think that one is any more news than google is.:) hmmmm

I looovve Pandora as well! A co-worker introduced it to me.
One of my favorites is Etsy - it's a website that hosts "shops" for online sellers of homemade crafts, accessories, etc. Very neat if you like homemade items.

craigslist.com is like the best garage sale times 10! It categorizes by city and there is even a whole section on free stuff. Some people (especially around LA) give away the craziest things just cuz they're done using them...tv's, fridges, you name it. Worth checking out.
