Son of Hamas Leader Turns Back on Islam and Embraces Christianity

My friend Linda sent me the link to the story of Mosab Hassan Yousef. He was born the son of an influential leader in the militant Hamas organization in the West Bank and grew up in a strict Islamic family. But during his time in an Israeli prison he became disillusioned with Hamas and his Islamic faith and eventually put his trust in Christ.
You can read a transcript of an interview Mosab did with Fox News. (There are also links to watch video of his story).
Let's pray for Mosab's safety--there is reported to be an Al Qaeda death sentence hanging over him. And let's ask God to use his testimony to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to many Muslims. His decision to speak out about his Christian faith is a step of extraordinary courage and faith.
Mosab's story calls to mind these words of Jesus:
"... for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict. You will be delivered up even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and some of you they will put to death. You will be hated by all for my name's sake. But not a hair of your head will perish. By your endurance you will gain your lives" (Luke 21:15-19).And these words from Acts 4:
"So they called them and charged them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered them, "Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, you must judge, for we cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard" (Acts 4:19-20).God bless you, Mosab. It is an honor to call you a brother in Christ.

Pilgrim's Progress Musical: Pilgrim is a modern musical adaptation of John Bunyan's classic work, Pilgrim's Progress. It was performed in spring 2009 by the high school students at my church. They did a great job. The script is by theatre professionals (and members of our church) Janice Mays and Cathy Mays. The music is by various artists, including Bob Kauflin, Zach Jones and Mark Altrogge. You can order a DVD of the production here.
Give Me An Answer Highschool Conference: I'm looking forward to joining Al Mohler, Russell Moore, Shane & Shane and hip-hop artist Flame at the SBTS conference for highschool students next spring. Details.
Stephen Altrogge Reviews Dug Down Deep: Over at the Blazing Center blog they've posted a very generous review of the book. Read it.

What courage. I pray that by some grace I can live like that - counting my life of no value, nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course.
These stories are a great encouragement, and I'm grateful that someone as busy as yourself takes the time to post them.
Prayers for your writing tonight...

Thank you for posting this story. We never tire of knowing of lives such as his. It encourages our own faith to see a brother so abandoned to the Lord, so willing to see God's plan realized above his own safety or comfort.

I was commissioned as a missionary this past October with the Pastor (Matt) at Barabbas Road Church. He told us the story of Mr. Yousef and I was greatly encouraged. He mentioned foxnews doing an interview but I had not come across the interview so I was excited to see the link on your blog.
