Our friends at Resolved have a great conference planned. Here's the trailer...
I’m a follower of Jesus Christ. I live in Gaithersburg, Maryland, with an amazing wife and three wacky, fun kids. I'm a pastor at Covenant Life Church. I’m also a writer.
My friend Donald Miller shares a helpful tip for writers: get a kitchen timer. Don explains, "When I have two or three writing assignments I just make a list, then pick one, then set my little timer for an hour or twenty minutes or whatever amount of time that specific assignment will cost me. And then, while the timer is ticking away on my desk, I don't let myself do anything else....When the timer goes off, I decide whether I want to keep working on it, or move on. It's a simple tool, but it works." Read more.
Tim Challies asks whether he's ready to address his Google search history with God. "What would I say to him if he were to ask me about the things I have gone looking for online? Could I tell him with confidence that what I have sought is an indication of a heart that is aligned with his purposes? Or would I have to confess that my searches point to a heart that is drawn to what is evil and perverse?" Read the post.

Resolved 09 is gonna be awesome. I can't wait to go this year! I've been anticipating this event ever since last September!
What's the name of the song that is being sung in the background? I forget the name!!
Dave - The song being sung is an arrangement of the hymn 'O The Deep, Deep Love of Jesus'.
Just saw your note that you are going to Resolved. We are a new Christian company that helps groups find hotels and we already have a block of rooms held for the Resolved conference this year. Please visit our website or email me for details.
Hi...
I found this conference while googling on-line.
I don't know much of any of the speakers, yet through some videos and just some basic research I feel that perhaps this is something God is asking me to do at this point in my life...
I don't know/have any friends who will be attending or are interested in going (most of them are non-Christians or are no longer evangelicals) Do you think I will be okay if I go alone? Would it be safe and good? I fear that the subject might hit me so hard...that I might need at least someone to talk to there, any thoughts?

A,
Having attended all Resolved Conferences, and knowing some of the staff involved with planning the conference, I can confidently say YES! (to going to the conference alone)
I can personally guarantee that you will be welcomed by all who are planning the event, and also those who will be attending. You will definitely be loved. There will also be staff that can talk with you and pray with you while you are there.
It is safe. And I have confidence that it will be good. These men preach the word, and it... is good. Please do consider going, I know it's very intimidating to travel so far, and know few people. But I believe it is a worthwhile conference to attend.
If you still have concerns, I'd be willing to talk to you about it off of this thread. I'd also be willing to connect you with some people who will be attending so you don't feel quite alone.
Jason
Hey, A, I'll be attending the conference alone too. If you'd like to try to meet up there, shoot me an email. You can send an email to my gmail account at wwall123+resolved. (The +resolved part is part of the email address, gmail allows filters for +blah, so adding that +resolved will make sure I get it in the right folder :) )
