Christian Cringe Award
Christian Cringe Award: The winner of the 2008 Christian Cringe Award (something I just made up) goes to the movie Sunday School Musical. No, this is not a spoof it is a real "Christian" direct to DVD movie that is a complete knock-off of the popular High School Musical series.

I noticed this the other day in a local store. Cringe Award is just right for it!

I think it needs to be noted that the people making the film are not necessarily Christ followers. In fact, looking at the other movies made or financially backed by them (http://www.theasylum.cc/index.php), I doubt they have any Christ honoring intentions.
So when Christians and non-Christians ask, "why do Christians do this (make second rate entertainment)?", I believe our question should be, "How do you know that they are Christian!"
To label something Christian is not just about saying "Jesus" or "Sunday School". But it is, as redeemed people, to honor Christ by pointing to Him who is our hero on the cross.
"All things are lawful," but not all things are helpful. "All things are lawful," but not all things build up. 1 Corinthians 10:23 (ESV)
(I do question if making films like this should be lawful but that is another question for another day.)
Though I have not seen the movie, so I will reserve full judgment, it does seem like this movie is not going to be helpful nor build up the body of Christ.
So let us not mistaken who Christ followers are. And may we obey, by the grace of God, the following.
So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31 (ESV)

You should give one retroactively to "Butterfly Kisses".
