I Feel Like I'm Stealing
Okay, so maybe you all already know about this, but I've only recently discovered that a free preview of the ESV Study Bible is available online for the month of March.
After that it will be available for anyone who already owns a copy of the Study Bible. This is unbelievable. It's such a great tool, I feel like I'm stealing when I go there. Honestly, I feel like I should be having to feed quarters into my computer like a parking meter.
Right now I feel the urge to do a numbered list about its features...
1. First of all it's the full ESV Bible with all the Study Notes of the Study Bible and all the maps and articles. They're all there. Theoretically, this month you could forgo buying an ESV Study Bible and just print out all the pages from this website. (Of course that would be cumbersome and cost you about $15,000 in printer cartridges.)
2. This is really cool...you can highlight sections on the screen and even make notes next to passages. And none of this bleeds through and shows up on the next page! Incredible!
3. You can LISTEN to any portion of the Bible as it is read to you. And the reading is not in some cheesy, GPS-female-computer voice. It is a real, high quality recording by David Cochran Heath, a veteran stage actor. Great voice. (Read how John Piper uses this feature.)
Go check it out. Hard to believe but now there's another reason to get an ESV Study Bible. Thanks, Crossway!

Pilgrim's Progress Musical: Pilgrim is a modern musical adaptation of John Bunyan's classic work, Pilgrim's Progress. It was performed in spring 2009 by the high school students at my church. They did a great job. The script is by theatre professionals (and members of our church) Janice Mays and Cathy Mays. The music is by various artists, including Bob Kauflin, Zach Jones and Mark Altrogge. You can order a DVD of the production here.
Give Me An Answer Highschool Conference: I'm looking forward to joining Al Mohler, Russell Moore, Shane & Shane and hip-hop artist Flame at the SBTS conference for highschool students next spring. Details.
Stephen Altrogge Reviews Dug Down Deep: Over at the Blazing Center blog they've posted a very generous review of the book. Read it.

Josh, thank you for highlighting the online side of the ESV Study Bible!
I work in a Christian Bookstore and have a hard time recommending any other study bible. The ESV Study is so well done.
The online presence of this bible is also excellent, as you have described. I have been known to pull up the ESV Study Bible on the store computer to demonstrate it for my customers. It is hard to fully appreciate it until you see it in action!
I am so pleased that Crossway is sharing the bible in this way this month. All of your readers should check the features out, and then go to their local Christian Bookstore and make this beneficial purchase.
