ha ha, great illustration. I heard that on the podcast yesterday was wondering what it looked like.

"I've spent a lot of time studying the pharisees and, you know what, you remind me - in a major - way of those guys." nice!
Good illustration.

Has CovLife ever considered posting sermon videos in their archives, as well as the audio?
Desiring God does it for Piper, and oftentimes, watching a sermon is more engaging than merely listening to it

Terrific illustration of what can happen if we as believers make a series of small compromises over time (it's a slippery slope).

You've been an encouragement to me for years, Josh. Through you, God's grace is spilling over on the young Hispanics here in Hood River, OR.

I will never look at my Sumo beanbag chairs the same way again...
Seriously though, I loved the process of your arguments as you stepped closer to Evil. That was frighteningly spot on. For all the humor, the whole skit made my blood go cold.

I kind of thought this was going to be a sermon blooper when I read the tweet, but instead it was a really good message- even better! Its hard at first to build up that reflex to turn immediately from sin and run, I'm still in the learning process, but its getting a little bit easier all the time. You did a great job of illustrating our justification process :)

Very direct approach. I like it.
The leg twitch at 4:14 is hysterical. Very dramatic.

What a great illustration. Well done. The process of arguments as you took steps towards the evil was so true and so real. That's what we do. That's what I do. Wow. Thanks.

Thank-you for posting this, Mr. Harris. It seems like I've been hearing this point a lot the past few days, and I think it's God trying to speak to me, and to encourage me to continue to stand strong in Him. Because, it's easy for me to want to lower my standards when my friends are saying/doing/watching something that I normally wouldn't...and I can be tempted to think it's ok because they're saying/doing/watching it. And I don't want to seem naive or "sheltered". But I have to remember...it really is ok to be innocent.

Great sermon. I needed this.

I usually tune preachers out when evil is talked about because I hear about it every single time I go to church...I almost didn't watch this vid. But I did. And for once, I understood evil for what it is...evil.
I loved the beanbag illustration - made the whole concept sort of tangible enough to fully understand your point. I had said similar things (especially the part about the Pharisees and "testing the evil beanbag" to see if it was indeed harmful). Say "conviction" three times fast!
=) God continue bless you and make you a blessing
