Allowed vs. Ought

Allowed vs. Ought: I know my focus as a Christian is wrong when I'm more concerned with what I'm allowed to do than with what I ought to do. (via @HarrisJosh)

Clearly God regenerates our heart but doesn't wipe out our sinful nature. I'm more concerned with liberty than responsibility entirely too often.

I know that all that Jesus did cleanses me of all my sins, wiping all of my iniquities away to be remembered no more. The more I think about what he did, the more concerned I am with what God's best is, and trying to live to His standards, understanding the cost of the penalty of sin.
