I’m a follower of Jesus Christ. I live in Gaithersburg, Maryland, with an amazing wife and three wacky, fun kids. I'm a pastor at Covenant Life Church. I’m also a writer.
My friend Donald Miller shares a helpful tip for writers: get a kitchen timer. Don explains, "When I have two or three writing assignments I just make a list, then pick one, then set my little timer for an hour or twenty minutes or whatever amount of time that specific assignment will cost me. And then, while the timer is ticking away on my desk, I don't let myself do anything else....When the timer goes off, I decide whether I want to keep working on it, or move on. It's a simple tool, but it works." Read more.
Tim Challies asks whether he's ready to address his Google search history with God. "What would I say to him if he were to ask me about the things I have gone looking for online? Could I tell him with confidence that what I have sought is an indication of a heart that is aligned with his purposes? Or would I have to confess that my searches point to a heart that is drawn to what is evil and perverse?" Read the post.

Congratulations, but some states do not allow write-in candidates.
I'd vote for you! Would you be the first Homeschooling First Family?
Well I'll be old enough to vote by then and I would love to write you in!!! I think you'd make a wonderful president compared to some of the other options, including our current one.
Your a nice guy, but you're off track doctrinally. The Torah is eternal, just read all of the Bible, it's very clear. Spend some time with a Rabbi and I'll consider it. G-d Bless.
Whereas all of our other presidents had spot-on doctrine. That's why we vote for them;)
I would definitely vote for you!!! A homeschooling Family in the white House!!!! Wooot Wooot!!!!! Loving the sound of that one!!! and don't pay attention to Sir Mr. Know it all Stein ..who says you are off track doctrinally...He has no clue just how ON TRACK you really are!!!!!
Have a great one Josh!!!!
Happy Birthday! Enjoy 35 as it is a great age to spend magnifying Christ! Of course that is true of every age but worth saying anyway.
Come over to Canada, I'll vote for you! You may rule over North America. (Which includes Canada, eh?) Happy Birthday, Josh.... Keep digging! = )
Your joking right?
HA!!! this is amazing Josh. well done :D
In 2009 congress initiated a hight requirement for the Presidency.
And soon you will eligible for Senior Citizens discounts- LOL.
I love reading your blog! Happy Birthday.
And the president thing was a joke riiiigggghhhhttt?
haha! nice one. If that actually happened I'd vote for you...oh wait. South Africans can't vote for American presidents. never mind!
Happy Birthday Mr. Harris! I would vote for you... but you better watch out, your little brothers might beat you to the Presidency. ;)
Happy birthday, brother! You've got my vote, and I'd be happy to do any work on the ground you may need. Let me know when we start organizing! :-)

Hi Josh:
I thought you were going to say that you are now "eligible" to play in the "35 and over" basketball league. I remember my dad playing in that and thinking as a boy, "These guys are so old!" Now, as I turn 34 in January, I can't wait to be eligible for that league!
Happy birthday, and blessings upon you in the new year.
Warmly in Christ,
Steve
Does that mean C.J. would be your running mate for vice president?
Happy Birthday!
Well, We both share the same birthday on Dec 30th. That is cool to know that. Mind you, I am 10 years your senior. Other word that I am 45 years young!
I would love to vote for you. Go for it!

Josh, if I remember correctly, you promised me White House Chief of Staff back in 1995 in the New Attitude days. :)
Do you have a platform you will be running on or should we just reserve our vote by faith? What the heck! I'm voting for you. :)
Just became a registered voter a few weeks ago. Totally will write you in! ;) Happy belated Bday!
Isn't there a height requirement?
