I love the focus on humility, the relevance to all of life and the impact on the church.

My vote has to go for this one. Although i felt that perhaps some of the other films had more imaginative or artistic ideas, i felt this one did what to set out to do, without being distracted from it's basic idea.

This is a clear exposition of the text. It's visually engaging, simple, and elegant. It definitely gets my vote!

This one gets my vote!

This one is powerfully clear and engaging in style. Moving. Yes.

I love the use of color to create a visual metaphor. I'm left considering the meaning long after watching.

I think that this was an excellent movie!

vote. =)

I think this video is very good and conveys a great message. I would however be careful with that blazing "Scarlet Letter" "A" for adultery on the girl's hand, some may take that as furthering a chauvinistic agenda. This agenda has historically treated woman as solely responsible for instigating lust in men's hearts and accordingly if a woman should act in such a way and the man were to cave to sinful lust, it would be the woman's fault, not the man's.
Today we obviously no longer think this way and understand that each and everyone of us are responsible for our own sins.
I understand the film makers intentions, and i know they are not to convey this backwards agenda but rather of one to encourage a deeper understanding of God. All I am saying is that to an average non-Christian looking in, when he hears the word "orthodoxy", which is traditionally associated with "old world beliefs" (however wrong that notion may be) mixed with that red letter "A" I believe they will ascribe certain characteristics to Sovereign Grace Church that is not true.
Again sorry if this is a downer, but I thought I might point that out before Jon Stewart discovers this for The Daily Show fodder.

i vote for this

Wow. The girl with the scarlet letter was a great and unexpected touch. I loved how it all came full-circle. So good.

Simple, yet stirring. Loved the use of color to illustrate the message in the monologue. This one gets my vote.

What a great way to convey the thought and concept... I vote for this video.

The Scarlet Letter was very thought provoking, especially the way the man reached out towards her. All in all, excellent.

Love the use of one shot, which accentuates the full circle taken of the two arguers ending up as the last people we see. Wish the camera could have been smoother, but nice work.

This one gets my vote.

This one definitely gets my vote! I love the lack of faces. Makes it easier for me to see myself.

I need to correct the URL that I used in the last post. NOT my blog!! This one is correct. Thanks!

This one gets my vote.

Very nice film. I like the style, good use of light and color.

vote!

Incredible...you definitely have my vote!

I love it. It's so beautiful, and the very simple visual portrayal of the concept of humble orthodoxy being practiced is very strong.

AMAZING!!! I think it really speaks the point of bring back the Doctrine of TRUTH, in a humble, but powerful, passionate, but loving way! VOTE!

Hi Josh,

I was a part the crew that made this film. Sorry if we misrepresented what the book was trying to get across. It's not something we gave no thought to. In fact, the excerpt from the book had a specific line about telling a friend in sexual sin that "she" was wrong. That was the one line we dropped, and it was for the exact reason you're talking about. We just couldn't find another way to visually represent that form of sin. The whole point of the scarlet letter was to directly reference "old world beliefs" and to contrast that with the correct, biblical response. I understand how that may have come across differently than we wanted it to, but that's the trick with all media I guess. You communicate as clearly as you know how, and all you can do is pray that it'll be interpreted as you intended.
Again, just clearing up that chauvinism was definitely not what we were going for. Hope those on the other end still find the film useful.

Really gripping. Loved the visual imagery and use of contrast and color.

Great concept! *vote*

Very powerful. That's what true evangelism should look like...one life touching one more, exponentializing into a global reaction.

Positive comment to follow:
What a great introduction to a view of ourselves and the world that will open a definite can of worms.

There was some confusion from people who thought the comment above by "Josh" was coming from me (Joshua Harris). It didn't, and while I appreciate Josh's thoughts I wouldn't have the same concern about the scarlet letter. I thought it was a powerful visual symbol that clearly communicated a concept that we all understand. But I love the interaction! Thanks everyone for posting.

loved it. very thought provoking.

I thought this was a great short film. The film maker clearly put a lot of thought into it, trying to illustrate the text from the book.

Great Job!

Really well done. I thought the visuals really enhanced the passage while not distracting from it. Very unique & captivating style for a short film. Good job!!

Very dramatic, Very touching.

I Loved It!

I loved it! It certainly gets my vote!

That's excellent. I loved the color thing.

Very moving. Uses some strong images and subtle color use. One well composed shot.

You get my vote ! Very well done

Very Thought Provoking. Excellent.

Great composition and certainly makes you think!!

Quite good. Quite good.

Got my vote....very simple and to the point!

Love the color contrast and straight-forward story telling. Watched all 6 and this one gets my vote.

So... I had to come back and say that whether or not this film wins, it was really powerful. The image of the Bible being handed with the rose said more to me than I think about 1,000 sermons have. Not that the sermons weren't great, it's just that I needed that visual image. I can't even quite explain the affect it ...had. It's like truth just grew skin. So... thanks...

Bobby you blow me away yet again! AWESOME FILM! You totally have my vote. Props to you and Jeremy!!

I really liked how no faces were shown, just the Bible going from hand to hand. The simple backdrop made the spoken message stand out more.

This one gets my vote!
