It's been said that humility is not only thinking less of yourself but also thinking less about yourself. And I guess you could add that humility is assuming that others are thinking less about you, too.
One person (besides me) who could use a dose of that kind of humility is Lindsay Lohan. The Washington Post reports, "Lindsay Lohan filed a lawsuit Monday against financial giant E-Trade for its commercial about a "milkaholic" baby she claims is named for her -- and wants $100 million for pain and suffering, reports the New York Post. The actress filed papers in Nassau County Supreme Court over the 30-second spot that opens with a boy baby apologizing to his girlfriend for not calling the night before. "That milkaholic Lindsay wasn't over?" she asks. A lawyer for Lohan says she's a one-name celeb just like Oprah or Madonna, and that the commercial is a "subliminal message." A spokesman for the agency that created the ad said "Lindsay" happened to be the name "of someone on the account team."
I'm sorry, Lindsay, but when I saw this commercial I didn't think about you at all. Not even subliminally.

But now you will think of her, everytime you see that commercial. And maybe that's the whole point of the lawsuit.
But she's the cause of the connection between herself and the commercial. If she hadn't said anything, nobody would have thought there was a connection. That's like running a red light and then suing the person you hit. Additionally, from the article I saw this morning, one of the people at the advertising firm that was on the team that made the commercial is named Lindsay.
I think the commercial is hilarious People who choose vocations that place them in the public eye have to be able to take the heat. She likes the praise (when it comes) but cannot handle the criticism. Lyndsie needs to understand that the poor choices she has made in life are going to put the spotlight on her. Another thought is this might be a ploy by smart publicist using this opportunity to get Lyndsie (who's career has tanked) back into the the spotlight. Just sayin!
Blessings!
I so agree with you Josh...
Interesting stuff. Wonder if I should sue the singer (Madonna) for all the comments I get about my name? I have always disliked what she stands for. I agree with the above comments - her publicity team is going to "milk" it for all they can. Too bad she can't laugh at the commercial and get on with cleaning up her life!
I completely agree, Josh! It seems like any excuse to sue is good for many Hollywood celebs these days, unfortunately. There are many other magazines that have probably said worse...this should be something that she lets roll of her back. What Jeffery said is true, if you choose to put yourself in the public eye, you have to kind of expect a little grief sometimes. Lindsay is such a popular name, it's seems just silly and stupid to be suing over a funny commercial. :P
