Boy Meets Girl

New Updated Edition
I wrote Boy Meets Girl the year after I was married. It was a great chance to answer many of the questions that were raised by my first book, I Kissed Dating Goodbye. I know the last thing most singles want is more rules and, in Boy Meets Girl, I wanted to offer an alternative: an intentional, God-pleasing game plan for finding a future spouse. In the book, I discuss how biblical courtship (a healthy, joyous alternative to recreational dating) worked for me and my wife Shannon, to give an encouraging and practical example for readers wanting to pursue the possibility of marriage with someone they're serious about. This updated version includes a new foreword, a new chapter, an all-new "8 Great Courtship Conversations" section, and some updated material throughout.

One of my favorite parts of the updated edition of Boy Meets Girl is the new guide for couples called "courtship conversations." So many couples I know want something more than just dinner and a movie--these are just fun and easy-to-pull-off date ideas that include get-to-know-you questions meant help couples grow in their friendship and learn more of who the other person really is.
Here's a video clip of me talking about the book:

Going Crazy Over Lincoln: On vacation I read Team of Rivals and Manhunt. Next in line are two by Ronald C. White, Jr.: A. Lincoln and Lincoln's Greatest Speech. I just wrote James L. Swanson an email that probably made me sound like a crazed groupie. I think I need professional help. I want to go visit Edwin Stanton's grave in Georgetown. Anybody wanna come?
Homeschooling Grows: I saw this article in USA Today the other day at the grocery store. It's fascinating to see how the homeschool movement is evolving. Read it.
New Facebook Page: This sounds really cheesy, but we just launched a "fan page" over on Facebook. So here's the deal: I've almost reached the limit of friends I'm allowed to have so we started it as a way to have more friends. So just ignore the whole "fan" thing and feel free to join. I'll be posting more there about the new book and conference stuff. I just loaded some of my favorite pictures from NEXT 2009. Visit page.
